Series: xConsortium Series of Course Reports
The xConsortium Series of Course Reports examines data collected from the initial edX course offerings. The first in this series of papers are the HarvardX and MITx Series of course reports. While each series addresses only those courses offered by the sponsoring institution, the body of work represents a collaborative research initiative designed to contribute to a larger conversation about, “how students learn and how technologies can facilitate effective teaching both on-campus and online”. The overview report examines the data from the fall of 2012 and spring of 2013 in aggregate. The data set represents the de-identified data used to draft the reports in this series. The link to the data set below also include support docuemntation. It is our hope that this series of reports and the open access to the accompanying data set can facilitate community discussion around such issues as the emerging opportunities, continued challenges, implications for instructional design, and additional research questions worthy of examination.
